The Maintenance Associate is responsible for ensuring our Resort runs as smoothly and efficiently as possible for the guests staying at Tigh-Na-Mara Seaside Spa Resort and Conference Centre. The Maintenance Associate role is a Guest Service oriented position with a primary focus on attention to detail.


Hours of work

Hours of work will vary based on business levels
It is a full time position with varying day, evening, weekend and holiday work


Duties & Responsibilities
  • Plumbing i.e. faucets, toilets, hot water tanks etc.
  • Electrical i.e. switches, sockets, lights etc.
  • Mechanical i.e. equipment servicing etc.
  • Golf cart repairs
  • Pool & Whirlpool maintenance and water conditioning while ensuring Parksville Health Authority Regulations are met
  • Preparation of firewood for guest use i.e. ordering, splitting, stacking, delivery and kindling prep
  • Assisting with building of guest fires
  • Garbage and recycle collection and sorting
  • Drywall repair
  • Painting and staining (refinishing)
  • Landscape clean-up & maintenance i.e. pressure washing, grass cutting, weeding, watering, etc.
  • Assisting with guest room deliveries
  • Assisting with guest room moves
  • Driving shuttle
  • Electronic lock servicing
  • Cleaning, i.e. carpets etc.
  • Gas & electric fireplace servicing
  • Maintaining and organizing tools
  • Working on our Preventative Maintenance Program
  • Other duties as assigned by the Maintenance Manager


Job Requirements
  • Excellent communication, organizational and multi-tasking skills
  • Ability to make decisions and adapt quickly to various situations
  • Able to work shift work, weekends and holidays
  • Able to work under pressure and maintain a positive work environment
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Computer skills (use of Property Management System)
  • Clean Driver's Abstract & Driver Factor Report
  • $20.00 per hour

  • Extended Health & Dental Benefits available after three months of employment to Full Time Team Members
