Cedars Sous Chef

Job Summary

The Sous Chef at Cedars Restaurant & Lounge supports the Chef in delivering a welcoming, high-quality dining experience rooted in approachable cuisine with a rustic, modern twist. This role provides day-to-day leadership in a fast-paced kitchen, ensures consistency and presentation standards, supports line and expo during peak service, and contributes to menu development.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Chef in leading daily kitchen operations
  • Ensure quality, consistency, and efficient service
  • Contribute to menu features and seasonal ideas
  • Oversee prep, cleanliness, and FoodSafe standards
  • Assist with ordering, inventory, and cost control
  • Mentor and support team members
  • Collaborate with front-of-house for a seamless guest experience

Qualifications

  • Passion for quality ingredients and presentation
  • 3–5 years of kitchen leadership experience preferred
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Experience with inventory and cost control an asset
  • Red Seal preferred; FoodSafe Level 2 an asset
  • Positive, team-oriented leadership style
